A collector’s guide
Inspect the lot, understand the cost, then decide. Here’s how bidding on Aucta works.
Read the condition and provenance. Check what was verified—and what wasn’t.
Choose an amount. See the increment and buyer’s premium before confirming.
Your status updates on the lot page. The final price stays in the public record.
No mental arithmetic
The current bid is the object’s price, before fees. A 10% buyer’s premium is added to the winning bid. It is shown separately every time you review a bid.
Shipping is separate. A reviewer records a destination-specific sandbox quote before a test checkout can open. No production charge is enabled.
Understand verificationShipping is not included. This calculator is an illustration, not a bid or shipping quote.
Sign in first, then open the bid review screen. It shows the object, your chosen bid, the minimum increment and the 10% buyer’s premium. Nothing is submitted until you press Confirm preview bid. A new bid from someone else never silently increases the amount you are reviewing.
The lot page marks your status as Outbid and shows the new minimum. You can review another bid or leave it there. Aucta does not automatically bid for you. Keep the page open for immediate price updates. Your private Auction updates inbox records outbid and final-result events even when the page is closed. Email delivery depends on the configured service.
A bid accepted in the last two minutes resets the remaining time to two minutes. This gives other bidders time to respond. The server checks the closing time before accepting any bid.
The sample lot has five completed review checks: seller identity, in-person inspection, identifying marks, provenance review and condition documentation. The lot page shows the scope and limitations of each check. It is not a valuation or a promise of future value.
In a real auction, a confirmed bid is a commitment and cannot simply be undone. This is a launch preview: the bids are demonstrations only, with no payment or binding purchase. You can always cancel the review screen before submitting.
No. This preview uses sample lots, sample seller histories and illustrative images. The bid history includes seeded examples and bids placed by preview visitors. Won orders have a sandbox checkout workflow. No production charge, delivery or real-money movement is enabled.
On this browser and device. Use the bookmark on a lot to save it, or remove it at any time. Your watchlist checks current prices every 15 seconds while visible. Saving does not reserve the object or place a bid. Clearing browser storage removes your shortlist.
A saved lot follows one object. A saved search keeps your category, budget, condition and other criteria so you can run the same search again. Signed-in searches are saved to your account. Guest searches use a private browser cookie; clearing that cookie removes guest access. Neither feature places bids or sends email alerts.
No. Add closing reminder downloads a calendar file with the current close and a 15-minute alarm. It is a snapshot, not a live calendar subscription. Check the lot for extensions and confirm the alarm in your calendar app. You can download an updated file if needed.
Choose Bid price only or Bid + 10% premium in More filters. Both use the current bid (or final price on sold lots). Shipping is always excluded and is not quoted in this preview. A live price can increase after you search.
Browse first. Bid only when you’re ready.
